After college and through seminary I began with a focus on working with families and individuals, helping them find their full potential through Christ.  I have served as a youth minister and pastor in various church settings over the years.  I have also worked with several hospitals as a staff chaplain in different states.  For the past 18 years I have been working in various capacities at Baptist Health.  I have had the opportunity to work with both Behavioral Services programs as well the Baptist Health Transplant Institute.  Within Behavioral Services my focus has spanned the gamut from adolescents to geriatric adults as well as chemical dependency.  At various times throughout my professional career I have worked in private practice and I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to see the growth in individuals, couples and families when people are committed to seeing positive change. There are several modalities of therapy that I use throughout the therapeutic relationship.  I utilize a strategic and systemic perspective to better understand the whole person.  Having also been trained in an experiential model of therapy I will incorporate that into sessions at times.  I believe that we are more than our past, but also recognize that our past has shaped the person that we are.  I look forward to the continued journey ahead and better understanding the person that God has created us to be.  Change is never easy, but it is more than possible with the support of others and our own spiritual focus.  Let’s see where that journey can take us.
